We Made It - days 0 & 1

The day had finally arrived, the girls were very excited when they woke up...

We sent them off to school for the morning, and by the time we had done a few jobs and dropped Archie at the kennels, it was time to pick them up again.

Once home it was a quick change of clothes and Nana drove us to the airport.
The first leg of our journey was from Christchurch to Auckland...

Then we transferred to Auckland International...

For our flight to Los Angeles...

Once we arrived (approx 1pm) it took us another four hours to get from LAX, via the rental car depot to pick up our car and to drive to our house.

We had a quiet night in, after a quick stop at the supermarket, and a drive past Disneyland.

Saturday we were up bright and early, the aim was to leave the house at 7am to make sure we were at Disneyland for rope drop at 8am.

We left slightly late,  and the walk took us 23mins, but still got to the park as they opened the gate at 7.45, and we were down Main Street for rope drop at 8am.

We quickly went and got our Photopass+ card and as we knew the crowds had probably gone to Fantasyland we skipped that and went to Adventureland, I think we were aiming for Big Thunder Mountain Railway but it wasn't open yet.  We couldn't believe how empty it was...

We rode Pirates of the Caribbean with absolutely no one in the line in front of us.  Next we went to the Haunted Mansion, then The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

It was around now that Dale and Wendy and the boys arrived, we found a few Photopass photographers who took what I hope were great photos.

We rode Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Matterhorn, It's a Small World.

Nick and I had lunch at Cafe Orleans, we shared a Monte Christo and we couldn't finish it...

After lunch we went to Big Thunder Mountain, and using the fast pass was fantastic, we must have passed a couple of hundred people, the posted wait time was about 35 mins and we were on the ride within 2 minutes.

We did the same at Space Mountain, passed so many people by using a fast pass.  Nearly everyone loved the ride - everyone except Dale that is!

Here is a photo of what he looked like on the ride, he is at the top right, he was about to throw up on Nick...

We then went to Disney California Adventure, but I will save that for the next post.
